Kentucky Tyrant Throws Pallet On Fire
Showing a penchant for fueling the hatred spreading in Kentucky, the tyrant Beshear says, "I believe the statue of Jefferson Davis should not be in the Rotunda." That is alright position and one that is fine to have, no doubt. Opinions though are not free. They come with a cost and this is a cost Beshear will not carry himself, but all those hurt by his flames will.
It is interesting as the looting is quieting down in Louisville, Beshear finds another topic to stoke the flames higher and feed racist chants and hatred. Whether the statue should be there or not, after being installed nearly 90 years ago, is a good debate topic and worthy of attention. However, bringing this up while people are enraged and already robbing pharmacies and torching businesses leads me to conclude, Beshear is fueling hatred.
If Beshear wanted to attack forms of oppression in Kentucky, he might start with the public school system. Ending the State's schooling would do more to free Kentucky from hatred and violence than any statue ever could stoke. But Beshear is not being honest. He is simply brokering anger in exchange for votes.
