Tax Em Now, Spend It Later

Henry County, Virginia has the highest rate of taxes in the region, according to the front page of the Martinsville Bulletin on 29 Mar, 2021. This dubious achievement is the result of the public apparently voting in November to support an increase in General Sales Tax, not to exceed a 1% increase. This tax increase was sold to the public as necessary for school construction and renovation and added to the already high rate of taxes the county has been spending on pet projects for years.

Those same local institutions that "schooled" students for twelve years failed to inform them government is not capable of spending the money it steals wisely. In twelve years they could not get this point across? Apparently 55% of the local voters supported robbing 100% of the population to give government more money to spend unwisely.

This is tyranny with the ballot. This additional one percent of theft is expecting to result in 4-5 million dollars in annual theft for free spending by politicians with friends who are lining up at the trough to receive their new contracts. Buried near the end of the news article is the point I was waiting for. I was so happy it was incuded.

It says, "Whether or not the money will be forwarded to Henry County schools upon receipt or held for their asking is not known." When will people learn the government cannot be trusted? Just look at the lottery systems passed across the country and their promises to fund schools. Those lottery dollars were siphoned off and given away to friends, who then support campaigns with those same dollars, while other taxes are increased to fund those educational camps because they do not receive the money.

This happens every year. Every year people who equate voting to some sacred right, slowly destroy their neighbors so politicians can get more money and campaign funding. Can you imagine willingly voting to hurt your neighbors pocket so a politician can spend your neighbors money on projects accomplished by their friends, who in turn fund their campaigns?

It seems most people are incapable of learning once they are schooled.

The money being siphoned out of the pockets of people is never in question. Here is what you can take to the bank though, you won't be making any of those deposits! When will people realize they should never vote for a tax increase and should never support a single politician who does. But then again, those same public school institutions, while doing a poor job educating the public, are doing an excellent job of schooling them.
