All Propaganda

The "AP" or Associated Press should change their name to align with their messaging, All Propaganda. It would be a cheap transition as they would not even have to change their signature blocks or most of their stuff since the initials would remain the same. Not only that, it would be honest, which coming from a propaganda machine would really throw people for a loop.

While I can peruse the paper on a daily basis and find AP content and its terrible messaging getting worse and worse, I would lose even more of my hair if I purposefully sought out and read their material. If anyone should ever ask why the readership and circulation of the news paper in most towns is down so much that most places have lost their papers, look no further than the extent of the AP content they run.

Readers are not stupid. They may often be ignorant of things, but they are not stupid and they can see through the propaganda of their local paper and how slanted it is always towards ever more power and growth of the State at your expense. Christians really have little need for the paper outside of obituaries and in my experience the last seven years, almost no Christians are reading the paper.

So what has me fired up today? It was this short piece of "news" in Fridays circulation, that was likely picked up and spread nationally to pollute minds.

Fridays All Propaganda piece about firearms

in the AP, "House OKs measure to boost background checks" article, there are a number of assertions that should drive people mad.

  1. Democrats are embolded by their majorities in the House and the Senate. They have never not been bold or honest in their love for the State and all things that increase their power and lessen yours. I at least give them credit that they are honest about their love of the State in comparison to their Republican allies who pretend they are not.
  2. Democrats are making a new push to enact gun control legislation. This is not true either. They do this every year and know the Republicans will push back and limit their chance of passage because this is how they each get financial upport and voters to turn out. Pushing this legislation allows Democrats to do a couple of things: 1. Blame Republicans for blocking legislation. 2. Ask for more money. 3. Ask for more votes because next time, with your money and your votes they will be able to do it. (Both sides do this. See Abortion for Republicans because they do the exact same thing.)
  3. The push for greater gun control laws is in response to Sandy Hook. This is not true. People in government on all aisles want greater gun control laws because the only thing they fear is the mass of people realizing there are only a couple hundred people between them and freedom and it would be easy to get that freedom back, if they were willing to kill for it. Therefore, all government agents want to make sure they can limit who can get guns, what guns people have access to, and that the police can access someone's home to remove guns if they want.
  4. Enhanced background checks are generally popular with the general public. The only way this statement is true is if those background checks are being done on all politicians and State employees. There is no proof cited or evidence available that private citizens support greater restrictions on their ability to do what they want. Certainly there are some boot licking Statists out there who want to abdicate their freedom to the control of the State, but most people want the State and its attempts at control as far from them as possible.
  5. There is almost zero chance of this passing now or in the future, thanks to the requirement for 60 senate votes. This final sentence in the article shows how clearly this is nothing but a propaganda piece. The legislation was passed in the house so claims can be made, see the points above, but they know it is a waste of time. It is all for show.

If I did not need the paper for obituaries and things like that, I would cancel my subscription. It is painful to read the paper everyday, but because I love you saints, I bite the bullet and do it. Run saints, run from your overlords and run to Jesus. There is nothing good coming out of the AP or your government, but your local church needs you and can use you to inform others the Kingdom of God is at hand and things are urgent.
